We visited the Strand during Mardi gras and had a fantastic time. Parades and music. We're all over along with street vendors. And a overall good time
I absolutely loved walming the Seawall and Beach at Galveston. Detourjng through the Historic Downtown are was fantastic. The old homes really take you back in time.
It would have been nice if businesses were open earlier. Paid 20 bucks to park. Bars and restaurants closed. Antique shops closed. Could have bought 100 cheap t-shirts. Enjoyed the spice shop and the native American jewelry store.
We visit several times a year. All our familiar stops, but always find something new and fun! Endless possibilities on the Galveston island!

Mardi Gras. What a fabulous time. The strand is a fun fun place to visit
The Strand is a great district to visit. So much to see and do. There is a Starbucks of course. There are ice cream parlors, bars, live music, Rocky Mountain Chocolate, museums, restaurants and so much more. You can walk to the pier and may see huge jellyfish or take a dolphin tour. There is a trolley also than you can ride. I love the carriage rides that are also informative. Most of the people are very friendly in the shops. There are great finds. A little helpful fact is that lots of these shops have coupons to the Landrys restaurants for things like priority seating and free appetizers! Must pay for parking but it is reasonable.
Beautiful downtown area oozing charm and character. You can tell the area is well maintained and the restaurants and bars are very reasonably priced! We took a walk along the sea shore and enjoyed the many seafood markets here. Reminds me of Tokyo when I was there!
